By Sean O’Connell Hollywoodnews.com: It worked well for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, yet not so well for the Haunted Mansion. Now Disney’s trying their luck with another theme park-inspired feature film that could give life to another lucrative franchise, if it’s handled properly. Disney has hired Jason Dean Hall to pen a “thrilling, fast-paced movie” based on the theme park’s Matterhorn ride, as reported by THR. The Matterhorn can be found in the Fantasyland section of California’s Disneyland park, and incorporates a toboggan-themed ride down a mock Swiss mountain. Thanks to upgrades in 1978, the ride now boasts automatronic Abominable Snowmen. Awesome!
